New soil testing resource centre in Hyderabad to help farmers, researchers and institutions

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories launches soil testing resource centre in Hyderabad for sustainable agriculture practices, processing up to 75,000 samples annually.
Generic drugmaker Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Dr. Reddy’s Foundation launched a soil testing resource centre in Hyderabad on Friday (January 17).
Spread across 14,750 sq.ft., the facility is designed to provide fast, accurate and affordable soil testing services to a diverse range of beneficiaries, including farmers, agronomists, agricultural researchers and institutions, with the goal of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing productivity.
It can currently process up to 75,000 soil samples a year, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories said in a release. Over time, it will have the capability to process up to 2,00,000 samples a year.
Equipped with advanced instruments, the centre offers comprehensive chemical, biological and physical testing of soil testing under more than 18 parameters, including primary, macro and micronutrients. It can also detect heavy metals in soil, water and plants.
