Delhi CM Rekha Gupta meets traders for budget inputs, criticizes AAP govt for neglecting infrastructure in major marketplaces.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday met traders and representatives from various sectors to seek their inputs days before the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is scheduled to present its first budget. The meeting, which is part of the ‘Viksit Delhi Budget’ programme, follows similar meetings with teachers and women.
The Delhi government will present the budget between March 24 and 26.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Ms. Gupta lashed out at the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, saying, “For years, traders and business owners have been suffering due to impractical policies, bureaucratic hurdles and negligence by the previous government. There has been no real development — roads and drainage systems remain in poor condition, and major marketplaces lack basic amenities like washrooms.”
The CM added that small and large commercial hubs, including Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, and Lajpat Nagar, are suffering due to infrastructure neglect.
