Manufacturing hub to be developed in area between RRR and ORR, plans underway for regional ring railway around RRR

Telangana plans to develop a manufacturing hub between ORR and RRR. The government’s focus is on job creation, agriculture, and infrastructure, inviting global investments for growth.
The area between Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Telangana would be developed as a hub for manufacturing sector where pharma, life sciences, aerospace, defence, electric vehicles and solar industries would be set up. Radial roads connecting the RRR and the ORR are being developed. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the RRR, spanning over 360 km, was under planning stage and plans were being prepared to develop a regional ring railway around it.
Mr. Reddy asserted that the government was focussing on skills and job creation. Addressing the national council meeting of the Confederation of India Industry (CII) in Hyderabad on Friday (January 10, 2025), he said equal focus was on developing agriculture, organic farming, cold storages and warehouses among others in the rural parts of the State outside the ORR.
Since Telangana did not have a coastline, the Government was contemplating development of a dry port and a special road and railway connection with the Machilipatnam port in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh was also being planned.
Inviting the industry majors to invest in the State, the Chief Minister said that his government is creating an ecosystem with ease of doing business the highest not only in the country but also globally.
The government’s vision is to strengthen the State economy and enable the functioning of the markets without hurdles. “We are inviting all to invest in Telangana. Let us create wonders together,” he said.
The Chief Minister told the industrialists that the government cherished a dream regarding the development of the State which completed 10 years of existence and it was “Telangana Rising”. Accordingly, the government envisaged plans to develop Future City that would compete with the likes of New York, London, Tokyo, Seoul and Dubai. The proposed future city would be dedicated to service sector and it would be a pollution free net zero city.
Explaining the initiatives by the government, he said a fleet of 3,200 electric buses would be added to the State owned road transport corporation and the government had already exempted registration fee and road tax for electric vehicles. As a result, the State registered fastest sale of electric vehicles in the country.
A meeting was held by Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar and Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil with the Principal Secretaries of Higher Education and Medical Education departments, Secretary of KPSC, Executive Director of KEA, Vice-Chancellors of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Visvesvaraya Technological University, and other officials to discuss the CBT model for recruitment in Karnataka.
