Telugu Desam Party national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Saturday alleged that the YSR Congress Party “goons” tried to attack Kondepi MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy in Prakasam district.
In a statement, the TDP MLC said the ruling party leaders were frustrated as the TDP MLA had “exposed the large-scale corruption resorted to by by former Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.”
Stating that Mr. Swamy was a Dalit intellectual, he alleged that the ruling party “goons” targeted him at the behest of the Minister. Condemning “the attack”, he said the TDP would not remain silent to the reign of terror unleashed by the YSRCP government in the State.
Mr. Lokesh alleged that taking advantage of his relations with the Chief Minister’s family, the Minister had been indulging in massive scams to make easy money. He said the YSRCP leaders were intolerant of criticism and attacked people who questioned their “misdeeds” or tried to bring facts out. He said the party had brought about a destruction-spree in the State that had adversely impacted all sections of people.
