BJP attempting to poach candidates in order to form govt in Delhi: AAP

AAP alleges BJP offered ₹15 crore to 7 candidates to defect after Delhi election; BJP denies, calls it baseless.
A day after polling for the Delhi Assembly election, Aam Aadmi Party national spokesperson and MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday (February 6, 2025) alleged that seven AAP candidates have received offers of ₹15 crore each from the Bharatiya Janata Party to leave the AAP and join the BJP to form the government.
“Two things are clear: BJP has accepted defeat in Delhi. They have started operation lotus in Delhi also for horse trading of MLAs,” he said at a press conference.
He did not reveal the names of the AAP leaders who got the calls or who called them but said that proof will be given at an appropriate time.
“We have specifically directed them to record all such calls and formally report them. Additionally, if anyone approaches them in person with such an offer, they should secretly record a video using a hidden camera, and share this evidence with the media and the public,” he said.
“We have warned our MLAs, alerted them to the situation, and advised all our members to stay vigilant,” he added.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva alleged that ever since the announcement of the Assembly elections, it has been evident that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and all party leaders are panicked by their seemingly inevitable defeat.
“The frustration of AAP leaders after being rejected by the public in yesterday’s polling is now clearly visible, and in their desperation, they have resorted to making baseless accusations. Sanjay Singh’s claim that the BJP is offering inducements to AAP’s MLA candidates is a reflection of his frustration,” he said.
