Construction of the CC road on the Bhima River bridge has been completed and is ready for vehicle movement shortly.
The construction of the CC road on the Bhima River bridge, which connects Yadgir with Shahapur, Shorapur, Wadagera, and other major towns, including Vijayapura and Bengaluru, was completed, and it will be opened for vehicle movement from March 23, Yadgir MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur has said.
After visiting the work site and inspecting the work, Mr. Tunnur said that the road on the bridge was completely damaged owing to heavy rains. “Numbers of vehicles are used on this bridge to reach major towns. But due to damage, the vehicles are forced to take a diversion to avoid the bridge for over a month. Therefore, the work to construct the CC road was taken up by closing the road. Now, the work has been completed and is ready for vehicle movement,” Mr. Tunnur said and added that ₹ 1 crore was spent on the road construction and also to take up minor repairs of the bridge.
In another major repair work to reconstruct the shoulder part of the railway bridge, which is adjacent to the Bhima river bridge, was also completed at a cost of ₹ 1 crore.
The vehicles should use the railway bridge and then the Bhima River bridge to reach the other town from Yadgir city.
The authorities closed the road that passes through these two bridges for over a month for repair work.
