Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticizes DMK government for inaction on man's death at temple, urges solatium for family.
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday (March 16, 2025) urged the DMK government to sanction solatium to the family of a man, Om Kumar of Karaikudi, who reportedly died while waiting in the queue to get a ticket for darshan at Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur.
Criticising the government, he alleged inaction on the part of Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments for the man’s death.
Mr. Palaniswami recalled the Minister’s reported statement after concerns were raised in this regard in January this year. Though various works in the temples were to undertaken with utmost devotion, they were being undertaken by the DMK government for mere publicity, he alleged. “This government did not intend to facilitate the peaceful worship for devotees in temples. It is condemnable,” he said.
