RGIA launches Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme for Indian passport holders & OCI cardholders, streamlining airport processes.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has launched the ‘Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme’ (FTI-TTP) for Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The programme was virtually inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday (January 16).
The FTI-TTP aims to streamline emigration and immigration processes through pre-verification of travellers, providing expedited clearance for both arriving and departing passengers. The RGIA has installed eight electronic gates, four each for arrivals and departures, to facilitate the programme’s implementation, said a release.
To enrol in the programme, eligible individuals must apply online via the official website. The registration process requires applicants to provide their biometrics, including fingerprints and facial images along with other necessary information as specified in the application form. Airport officials have noted that the registration process may take up to one month, and applicants must ensure their passport has a minimum validity of six months at the time of application. Membership under the programme will be co-terminus with the passport’s validity.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Bureau of Immigration, has spearheaded the development of this initiative.
