Forcible transfer of Kakinada Seaports shares: Vijaya Sai points the finger of blame at Y.V. Subba Reddy’s son Vikranth Reddy

Vijaya Sai Reddy points the finger of blame in the forcible transfer of Kakinada Seaports shares at Y.V. Subba Reddy’s son Vikranth Reddy. It was Vikranth Reddy who brokered the entire deal, the former MP tells CID, while insisting that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was neither a party to the transaction nor benefited from it. As far as the liquor scam scam was concerned, the former MP said Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy was the mastermind.
Former Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy on Wednesday told the AP CID during questioning on his suspected role in the forcible acquisition of shares belonging to K.V. Rao, former CMD of Kakinada Seaports Pvt. Ltd. (KSPL), allegedly by Aurobindo Realty, that he had absolutely nothing to do with it and that the transaction was between Mr. Rao and Aurobindo Realty MD P. Sarath Chandra Reddy (Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy’s son-in-law), and it was entirely brokered by Y.V. Subba Reddy’s son Vikranth Reddy.
Speaking to the media after presenting his version of the case to the CID personnel here, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he had come to know from his and Mr. Rao’s common friends that his name was included in the complaint lodged with the CID, at the behest of IAS officer R. Karikal Valaven, who had acquaintance with some of the auditors involved in the share transfer.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy also told the CID that as far as he knew, YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was neither a party to the transaction nor benefited out of it, therefore the allegation that he and Mr. Vikranth Reddy tried to bail Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy out of the case was absurd.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy insisted that he had no direct friendship with Mr. Rao, whom he called a “good political broker,” and claimed that, in fact, Mr. Rao and Mr. Subba Reddy were very good friends for a long time, and whenever the latter traveled to the U.S., he used to stay in Mr. Rao’s opulent buildings there.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he was A-2 in Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 11 disproportionate assets cases registered by former CBI Joint Director V.V. Lakshminarayana. “It has become a ‘standard’ and the same is applied in the KSPL case,” he said.
The CID could retrieve his mobile phone call records to ascertain whether he spoke to Mr. Rao directly on any occasion as part of the conspiracy, and maintained that he never interfered in the affairs of Aurobindo Realty as he did not want his family relations with Mr. Sarath Chandra Reddy to be spoiled.
Referring to his resignation from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he could not continue in the party after coming to know that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy no longer had a place in his heart for him, which was due to the bad blood created by the coterie around him (Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy).

After Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured protesting members that he would call a meeting of legislators after the Budget session to look into their problems, the BJP and Janata Dal (S) withdrew their dharna in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday on the issue of releasing honorarium from the State exchequer for Congress workers involved in the implementation of the five guarantee schemes.
