Nearly a month after Punjab Pradesh Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu quit following the disastrous debacle in State Assembly elections, the Congress appointed Amarinder Singh Brar as the State Chief.

The Congress also settled the question of Congress Legislative Party chief appointing former Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Singh Bajwa to the post.
None of leaders from the precious regime including Sunil Jhakar who was also the contender for both the Chief Minister’s chair and State chief’s post was given any post.
Mr. Sidhu who was made president on July 18 2021, just months before the election had resigned on March 16, six days after the results.
