A-plus category history-sheeter 'Bomb' Saravanan arrested after police opened fire at him in Chennai hideout.
A history-sheeter named ‘Bomb’ Saravanan who was on the run was arrested by a special team of police after opening fire at him in a hideout as he allegedly attempted to attack the police personnel when they surrounded him at MKB Nagar in Chennai on Wednesday (January 15, 2025) night.
The accused ‘Bomb’ A. Sarvanan has been categorised as an A-plus category history-sheeter. He is allegedly involved in 33 criminal cases, including six murders.
He was nabbed at a godown in Goodshed Road, MKB Nagar by a special team which initially asked him to surrender. He tried to attack the police by hurling country-made bomb on an inspector, to escape. The police team quickly managed to overpower him after shooting at his knee.
The injured accused was taken to Government Stanley Hospital and two police personnel who were injured were taken to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Four country-made bombs, two knives and five kilos of ganja were seized.
Police sources said he was a close associate of slain Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) leader Armstrong. His brother Thennarasu was brutally murdered by a gang allegedly set off by history-sheeter Nagendran. ‘Bomb’ Saravanan is also said to be involved in the murder of one Panneerselvam who was part of the gang which killed his brother Thennarasu in 2015.
