Celebrating the 56th Raising Day of CISF with Alagappa University VC as chief guest, highlighting force's contributions to nation-building.
The 56th Raising Day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was observed with great enthusiasm and patriotism at the 4th Reserve Battalion here on Monday.
Alagappa University Vice-Chancellor G. Ravi was the chief guest.
Senior Commandant Shankar Kumar Jha in his welcome address highlighted the significance of this day and the vital contributions of CISF to nation-building. He explained how the CISF had evolved into a multi-dimensional force, playing a crucial role in securing key industrial, economic, and strategic establishments across the country.
A spectacular parade was presented by CISF personnel, which was inspected by Dr. Ravi. He praised the discipline, dedication, and professionalism of the force and acknowledged their indispensable role in ensuring the safety and security of critical infrastructure.
The Vice-Chancellor lauded the CISF’s contribution to economic development, stating that the force not only protects vital industries but also ensures the smooth functioning of key sectors like aviation, metro networks, space research, and disaster management.
He commended their unwavering commitment to national security and appreciated the efforts made by the battalion in organising the event on such a grand scale.
Deputy Commandant Vikas Singh proposed a vote of thanks with an assurance that the CISF would continue to uphold its motto of service and security with utmost dedication, a release said.

The customary address by Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan on the opening day of the Budget session of the Puducherry Assembly, besides giving an outlook on the state of economy, also provided a glimpse of the government’s thinking on various subjects, including issues faced by the Union Territory’s fishing community.
