40°C or higher in 29 Telangana dists, relief likely on April 2

Telangana swelters with temperatures reaching 41.5°C in three districts, but relief expected with thunderstorms on April 2 forecasted by IMD.
Temperatures in Telangana continue to soar, with the peak day temperature on Friday (March 28, 2025) reaching 41.5°C in three districts: Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nizamabad.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), 29 out of 33 districts recorded maximum temperatures of 40°C or higher, signalling an intense heat spell across the State. In Hyderabad, Musheerabad recorded a maximum temperature of 40°C.
However, some respite is on the horizon as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in ten districts on April 2. The IMD’s latest bulletin, issued on Saturday (March 29, 2025), placed an orange alert for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy, warning of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in isolated areas. A yellow alert has been issued for Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, and Medak, where similar weather conditions are expected.
For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the next 48 hours will bring partly cloudy skies with hazy conditions in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 39°C and 26°C, respectively, according to the IMD bulletin.

The 22.7 km Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch between K.R. Puram and Central Silk Board is set for a major revamp, featuring a white-topped carriageway, uniform service roads, upgraded public utilities, air-conditioned bus shelters, among the proposed plans. The redevelopment work is expected to begin in about four months.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday stayed further proceedings based on the First Information Report (FIR) registered against Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for allegedly outraging modesty of Kannada actor Ranya Rao, who was arrested in connection with a gold smuggling case, through his derogatory statements made before the media.
