16,823 students appear for SSLC exam in Ramanathapuram

16,823 students appeared for SSLC language exam in Ramanathapuram, with 17,841 in Sivaganga and 18,506 total applicants.
A total of 16,823 students appeared for the language subject on the first day of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) board examination in Ramanathapuram on Friday.
A total of 16,823 students – 8,076 boys, 8,326 girls and 430 private candidates - took the examination in 82 centres. Arrangements had been made for 136 differently abled students to write the examination.
In Sivaganga district, 17,841 students – 8,935 boys and 8,906 girls - took the examination, and 215 students were absent.
About 18,506 students – 9,075 boys, 8,981 girls and 183 private candidates from 131 government schools, 34 aided schools and 74 private schools - had applied for the examination.
A total of 25,122 students in Dindigul district and 14,245 students in Theni district appeared for the Class 10 Public Examinations that began on Friday.
A total of 12,599 boys and 12,523 girls appeared for the public examination in Dindigul district. A total of 855 students were absent.
Collector S. Saravanan along with officials from the School Education Department inspected the examination centre at Government Higher Secondary School in Eriyodu. There are 112 exam centres in the district.
