A rally was organised by the Madurai District Legal Services Authority on Saturday to create an awareness of mediation and its importance. The event was held as part of the Mediation Day celebrations.
Principal District Judge P. Vadamalai inaugurated the programme on the Madurai District Court campus. The rally was also flagged off by him. School and college students participated in the rally from the District Court to the Madurai Collectorate.
Model mediation programmes were held at the Collectorate by advocates, who spoke about the benefits and the importance of the mediation at the Collectorate. District Judges, Mediators, Judicial officers, advocates, court staff and other volunteers took part in the event.
A similar mediation day event was organised by the Sivaganga District Legal Services Authority in Sivaganga. Principal District Judge M. Sumathi Sai Priya spoke on the importance of mediation at the event. A rally was flagged off by the Principal District Judge in order to create awareness of mediation and its importance.
