Telangana BJP president confident of party's rise to power after 45 years, emphasizing on development and leadership of Modi.
Telangana BJP president and Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy claimed that the party is on course of getting an opportunity to come to power in Telangana after 45 years since all the ruling parties till date, including Congress, Telugu Desam and the BRS, have failed to fulfil the people’s aspirations or solve the burning problems.
Addressing partymen after raising the party flag at Badangipet in Rangareddy district on Sunday to commemorate the party launch day, he said people of TG are now looking up to the BJP as the next alternative. Former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee had launched the party in 1980 and celebrating the launch day on the auspicious occasion of ‘Sri Rama Navami’ is a good augury, he said and explained how the BJP had proved critics wrong by coming to power and also winning elections for three consecutive terms now under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Adherence to ideology, providing justice to weaker sections and enhancing the country’s stature in the world have been the hallmarks of the party over the years. Mr. Reddy had paid tributes to the slain partymen by ISI agents or naxals and also acknowledged the contribution of the past party presidents of united A.P. and later TG.
Rajya Sabha member and national OBC Morcha president K. Laxman has also said that people in the South and more so, those in Telangana, are aspiring for a double engine government. Therefore, the cadre should be ready for the local body polls ahead having won eight seats in Parliament polls and two in recent MLC elections here. The party has won a majority in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Haryana local body polls, said the BJP leader.
He asserted that the able leadership of Mr. Modi, bold decisions of the government, corruption and family rule free administration have been attracting people to the party. Mr. Laxman termed the passing of the Waqf Amendment bill as ‘historic’ and claimed it would help the poor Muslims especially those belonging to the Pasmanda category.
The Centre had followed the democratic norms by establishing a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to address the concerns of citizens across the country with lakhs of opinions gathered and considered, said Mr. Laxman. Mr. Modi is fulfilling the agenda set up by stalwarts like Vajpayee and L.K. Advani, he said and that people have voted the party to power in several States endorsing the Modi government programmes.
“The Opposition is seeking to divide the people in the name of religion, caste, region and language. So, the onus is on the cadre to obstruct such ‘conspiracies’ taking the development agenda of Mr. Modi to the people,” he said.
