Two foreign nationals illegally residing in the city with forged Indian documents were arrested during a raid in Saleem Nagar by the Malakpet police and the Central Zone Task Force. Four local residents, who allegedly facilitated the creation and procurement of these forged documents, were also arrested.
Mohammad Hasibul, 25, from Dhaka and Rohan Saha, 21, from Jessore, were found to be living in Hyderabad under false identities. The police said Hasibul was living as Jovan Chowdhury and the duo procured fake birth certificates and Aadhaar cards to establish Indian citizenship.
The locals arrested include Mohd Muqeed, 39, a pan shop owner, Temura Sai Kiran, 50, a DRP operator, Gaddameedi Rajnikant, 46, a document broker, and Duddu Sudheer Kumar, 27, a computer operator in the sanitation section of Narsingi Municipality.
Police seized several forged documents, fake Aadhaar cards, mobile phones and a laptop from the premises. A case has been booked and investigation is underway.
