Home Minister criticises YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy for tweets, compares him to Shakuni, vows to stop smuggling.
Home Minister V. Anitha has criticised senior YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader V Vijaya Sai Reddy for his series of tweets on the social media during the past few days. She compared the YSRCP leader to Mahabharata character ‘Shakuni’ and alleged that the Rajya Sabha member was trying to divert people’s attention from the PDS rice smuggling incident and also create dispute between the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders.
“May be Shakuni might have some ethics or morals, but Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy does not. He does not even have respect towards senior politicians like N Chandrababu Naidu,” she said.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Ms Anitha said that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy has started to post a series of tweets after Lookout Circulars (LOCs) were issued by the CID. People have started to understand who were the real culprits behind the ‘organised crime’, she said, adding that the enforcement agencies have been investigating the case at a rapid pace and would leave no stone unturned to arrest the persons involved. She also said that the police department would ensure steps to stop such smuggling in the coming days.
Ms. Anitha also said that on the lines of Visakhapatnam City Police, they would try to set up a cell in every district to receive grievances on land disputes/grabbings. She alleged that in many cases, YSRCP leaders were involved in land grabbing cases
The Home Minister also reiterated that the previous government had made a mess of the police department in the last five years. The NDA government was trying to bring back its past glory. Over 2,000 police vehicles and infrastructure was being provided to the department. This includes CCTV cameras, body worn cameras and Finger Print Identification System (FINS).
Ms, Anitha also said that while the main office of the ‘Eagle’, the anti-narcotic task force team, would be set up at Vijayawada, a sub-office would be set up in Visakhapatnam.
