Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa criticizes Congress government in Karnataka, expresses confidence in BJP's return to power.
There is no governance in Karnataka. It is a kind of Tughlaq Darbar, the former Chief Minister and BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa said in Belagavi on Sunday.
“The Congress government has failed on all counts. Let them run it for some time. But the people are tired of the failures of the Congress government. We are confident that the BJP will come back to power in the next elections,” he said.
“The guarantee schemes of the Congress government have no meaning. They were announced by party leaders without commitment. None of them are being properly implemented,” he said.
Asked if he wanted to give any advice to his party leaders, he said: “There is no question of me giving advice to anyone. All we have to do is to work together.”
He said that the State Budget has not given due importance to North Karnataka and that it is unfair. “It is a well-known fact,” he said.
He opposed the budgetary provisions to provide reservation to minorities in government contracts. “The people are not happy about this. Anyway, the issue will be decided by the Supreme Court,” he said.
He refused to answer questions on the rebellion by a party faction led by party MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.
