Trainee officer dies during training at Ezhimala Naval Academy

Assistant Commandant R. Rabijith, a 24-year-old trainee officer at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, collapsed and died during a routine training exercise on Friday.
Despite efforts by doctors at the naval hospital here, he could not be saved, said a press release.
A native of Mahe, Rabijith was part of the 41st Naval Orientation Course (Regular) for the Coast Guard, having joined the Academy in December 2024. He was remembered as a dedicated officer trainee who showed great promise in the service to the nation.
The Indian Navy has ordered an inquiry to determine the circumstances that led to his death.
