NDA government in Andhra Pradesh fulfills election promises with welfare schemes, pension hikes, and infrastructure projects.
The NDA government will implement the Thalliki Vandanam welfare scheme from May. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to each school-going child in the State as per the promise given in the 2024 election manifesto, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said.
Speaking in the Assembly on Tuesday, during a discussion on the “Motion of Thanks to Governor’s Address”, Mr. Naidu said the NDA government would abide by its promise and release the financial assistance for all the school-going children under the new scheme.
The Chief Minister also said that another poll promise of providing ₹20,000 under Rythu Bharosa would be fulfilled soon. Assistance would be released in three instalments — ₹6,000 from the Central government and ₹14,000 from the State government — per farmer per year. Matsyakara Bharosa would also be implemented shortly. All the promises given by the NDA during the 2024 general elections would be implemented, he said. The mega DSC recruitment would be completed before the commencement of the next academic year.
Despite having financial and administrative issues due to the ‘bad governance of the YSRCP in the past five years’, the NDA government had initiated several welfare and development projects apart from attracting investments, said Mr. Naidu.
He thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for extending support to the State government for infrastructure projects.
He criticised the YSRCP for ‘failing to respect the Assembly norms’ and boycotting the Governor’s address, and demanding Leader of Opposition status to the party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He said that during his 40 years of political experience, no leader demanded the Leader of Opposition status so far, except Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that the public did not give the Leader of Opposition status to the YSRCP chief.
