Madhya Pradesh's Global Investor Summit 2025 attracts ₹26.61 lakh crore investments, creating 17.3 lakh job opportunities, aiming for economic growth.
Madhya Pradesh received investment commitments worth ₹26.61 lakh crore through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during its two-day Global Investor Summit that concluded on Tuesday (February 25, 2025) in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, adding that the proposals were expected to generate 17.3 lakh employment opportunities.
Addressing media persons after the summit, Mr. Yadav said that the total figure stood at ₹30.77 lakh, including investment proposals received at the GIS-2025, seven regional industry conclaves (RICs) held over the year in various parts of the State, and during his visits to various cities, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, and countries, including Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom. The overall investment offers have the potential to create 21.36 lakh work opportunities, he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who addressed the closing ceremony, said that Madhya Pradesh’s summit would aid in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goals of making India a developed nation by 2047, and the third largest economy in the world by 2027. “This Investment Summit of Madhya Pradesh will not only be helpful in achieving these two goals but will also play an important role,” Mr. Shah said.
Mr. Shah said that Madhya Pradesh had become an attractive destination among investors and that it was the first State in the country to pass a Bill for ease of doing business.
“With the kind of action plan the Madhya Pradesh government has prepared, most of these MoUs will soon be implemented on the ground,” Mr. Shah added.
Mr. Yadav also said that the government had set-up a timeframe to evaluate all the proposals within a month and start the work.
“The Chief Secretary and other officials will scrutinise each proposal. We will then approach the industrialists who have given proposals and ask them what more is required. It is also our responsibility to maintain the investors’ trust,” the CM said, reiterating that his government had already reduced the required permissions to set-up industries from 38 to 10.
