Tamil Nadu BJP launches signature campaign for three-language formula, questioning need for all-party meeting on delimitation.
The Tamil Nadu BJP on Wednesday (March 5, 2025) launched a signature campaign ‘Samakalvi Engal Urimai’ (equal education is our right) in favour of implementing the three-language formula, proposed by the National Education Policy 2020, in Tamil Nadu.
Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and former Union Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan launched the campaign and a website to get digital signatures, respectively, in Chennai.

BJP State president K. Annamalai told journalists the party would hold a series of public meetings in various places across the State and BJP members would go door-to-door to get the signature of people who support implementation of three-language policy in the State. He said after getting one crore signature by end of May month, the party would submit it to the President of India.
He justified his party’s stance on boycotting the all-party meeting convened by Mr. Stalin on Wednesday and said there was no reason to call for an all-party meeting on delimitation when there was no official announcement either from the Election Commission, or from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
“Then how the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin came to a conclusion that the number of MP seats in the State would be reduced because of the delimitation? Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised that the delimitation would be conducted on a pro rata basis and the percentage of seats to Tamil Nadu won’t be reduced,” he said. He also questioned why increasing cases of sexual assault on women, corruption and law and order issues were not being discussed.
