Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta seeks input from women's organizations, private schools, and rural residents for upcoming budget.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday met representatives of various women’s organisations to seek suggestions for the Delhi budget, scheduled to be presented later this month.
“We met with different women’s organisations to discuss the budget. They demanded better security, economic opportunities, health, and education. They also highlighted other areas where the Delhi government’s focus is needed. We will work on the suggestions,” Ms. Gupta said.
The Chief Minister said she would meet with representatives of various communities in the next few days to seek their input.
“Delhi budget will fulfil people’s aspiration,” she added.
Ms. Gupta also met the principals of several private schools. “Double-engine government is working to bridge the gap between government and private schools and provide the best schooling in Delhi. Today, we had a discussion on various topics. People from the education sector put forth their views,” she added.
Meanwhile, several residents of Delhi’s rural area met Ms. Gupta. Thaan Singh Yadav, head of Delhi Panchayat Sangh, urged her to make budgetary provisions to develop forest areas, clean the Yamuna River and expand cow shelters for stray cattle.
