Stalin hands over welfare measures worth ₹166 crore to 53,309 beneficiaries

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurates projects worth crores, assures drinking water projects, and lays foundation stones for various developments.

In addition, he inaugurated 46 projects worth ₹376.49 crore and laid the foundation stone for 33 new projects.
He inaugurated ₹49 lakh-worth Anganwadi centres at Urathupatti panchayat, Maniyaptti in Kizhavayal pancayat, Ulagampatti panchayat and Kunnathur panchayat.
New classrooms, which were built at a cost of ₹3.36 crore in panchayat union middle and elementary schools in Pranpatti, SIngampunari, Maramangalam, Maruthanganallur, Nejathur, Kangani panchayat Thirupachethi panchayat, Keezhadi panchayat and Kaanur panchayat, were inaugurated.
₹1.27 crore-worth panchayat offices in Nachankulam panahayat (Devakottai panchayat union), Melapasalai panchayat and South Santhanur panchayat (Manamadurai panchayat union) were opened.
₹9 lakh-worth workshop for self-help groups in Thiruvegampathur panchayat (Devakottai panchayat union); ₹5 lakh-worth Co-location centre at Kannangudi panchayat and ₹13 lakh-worth village panchayat help centre at Kidakuzhi village in Veeranenthal panchayat), were also inaugurated.
On behalf of Municipal Corporation and Water Supplies Department, ₹6 crore-worth vegetable market on kazhanivasal-Kotaiyur road in Karaikudi corporation, ₹2 crore-worth weekly market at Pudhuvayal town panchayat were opened.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned DPRs for construction of the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail for a length of 46.23 km in three corridors at an estimated cost of ₹11,498 crore and the Vijayawada Metro Rail for a length of 38.40 km in two corridors at a cost of ₹11,009 crore.
