
Sports competitions for MLCs and MLAs on March 18 and 19

Government Chief Whip announces sports competitions for MLCs and MLAs at IGMC Stadium, emphasising importance of sports for stress relief.
Government Chief Whip G.V. Anjaneyulu said sports competitions will be organised for MLCs and MLAs at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada on March 18 and 19.
Addressing media persons at IGMC Stadium on Sunday, Mr. Anjaneyulu said the competitions used to be held during the TDP regime in 2014-19 and it was being revived as per directions from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu.
He emphasised that sports provide relief from the stress caused by busy lifestyles, and said that the government planned to develop stadiums in every constituency. He noted that the coalition government invited everyone to participate in the sports competitions irrespective of party affiliations, and hoped that all would attend.
Around 12 types of competitions were being organised for MLCs and MLAs. The sports competitions would be followed by a budget dinner on March 20 at Haritha Berm Park, along with the presentation of awards to winners of the competitions.
Government Whip Yarlagadda Venkat Rao, Assembly Secretary General S. Prasanna Kumar and others were present.
