NIT-Warangal honours Babu Jagjivan Ram's legacy of social justice and empowerment on his birth anniversary.
National Institute of Technology (NIT-Warangal) observed the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and champion of social justice Babu Jagjivan Ram on the campus here on Saturday (April 5).
The event began with the garlanding of his portrait. Prof. N.V. Umamahesh, in-charge director of NIT-Warangal, presided over the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he recalled the life and contributions of Babu Jagjivan Ram, highlighting his unwavering commitment to social equity, empowerment of the underprivileged and democratic values. He urged everyone to draw inspiration from Babuji’s ideals and contribute actively towards building an inclusive society.
Faculty members spoke about Babu Jagjivan Ram’s pivotal role in shaping independent India and his tireless advocacy for the rights of the marginalised.
