
Contractors themselves will topple Congress govt., says Somanna

Minister V. Somanna says contractors who accused the previous BJP regime of corruption in the State are now targeting the Congress government with similar allegations, criticizes Chief Minister's actions.
Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna has said that with their allegation of corruption, contractors were responsible for the fall of the previous BJP regime in the State and now, they are targeting their (Congress) “own government” by making a similar allegation.
Speaking to presspersons at Hubballi Airport on Friday, Mr. Somanna said that there will be no smoke without a fire The Chief Minister’s advisor himself has made a statement that Karnataka is number one in corruption. The contractors have said that commission is being sought to clear bills and that this government should not remain in power.
On the caste census issue, he said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a different man these days and his behaviour and acts are unlike that of a Chief Minister. “He has made a statement on caste census to save his chair and divert the attention of the public from real issues,” he said.
On the second international airport for Karnataka, he said that a decision will be taken based on the pros and cons and various other factors, including traffic and industries.
Terming the Congress as a “closed shop”, he said that the party has come up with a plan of agitating against the BJP’s Janakrosha Yatre as it did not have anything to do and also, there is no funds for development.
