Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore, in collaboration with The Hindu, has launched a nationwide public interest initiative — Healthy India, Happy India — aimed at fostering awareness, prevention, and wellness across India.
As part of this initiative, a 15-part webinar series will cover a range of health topics, featuring distinguished medical experts and highlighting the importance of proactive healthcare to improve quality of life.
The second webinar in the series, titled “Osteoporosis: What a Common Man Needs to Know”, is scheduled to take place on January 5, 2025, at 11.30 a.m. The session will provide valuable insights into osteoporosis, its prevention, and management.
The expert panel for this session will include Professor M.S. Seshadri, Senior Consultant, Physician and Endocrinologist at Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore, who will discuss strategies to reduce the risk of osteoporosis, including calcium and vitamin D nutrition as part of primary prevention.
Dr. Sai Krishna Chaitanya P., Consultant Endocrinologist at Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore, will provide an overview of osteoporosis, including who should be tested and what tests are necessary.
Dr. Shriraam Mahadevan, HOD and Professor of Endocrinology at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, Chennai, will focus on preventing osteoporotic fractures through secondary prevention.
The session will be moderated by Geetha Srimathi, a reporter at The Hindu.
