Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu expresses grief over loss of lives in blast at firecracker unit in Anakapalli district, directs best treatment to the injured. He asks District Collector to inquire into the incident and submit a report, and promises all support to the family members of the victims.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the loss of lives in an explosion at a firecracker unit at Kotavuratla in Anakapalli district on Sunday.
Mr. Naidu spoke to Home Minister V. Anitha and District Collector Vijaya Krishnan, and enquired about the accident.
The Collector informed Mr. Naidu that the condition of two of the injured persons was serious, and explained about the medical and rescue operations being taken up.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure best possible treatment to the injured persons.
Appealing to the family members of the victims to be strong, the Chief Minister said the State government would stand by them in this hour of grief.
The Chief Minister also directed the Collector to inquire into the incident and submit a report.
Ms. Vijaya Krishnan rushed to the accident spot and was personally monitoring the rescue operations. It was learnt that some victims would be shifted to the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam.
