NTK chief Seeman asserts party will contest 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election independently, emphasizing commitment to political revolution.
NTK chief coordinator Seeman on Sunday said that his party would fight the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election alone.
Replying to a query by a reporter here on whether the NTK would fight the poll by forging an alliance, he said that there was no change in his party’s stand of contesting elections alone. “We are not political merchants. We are fighters. We are for bringing about a political revolution, and not for doing business,” Mr. Seeman said, adding that his party members did not enter politics by copying other leaders.
On TVK founder Vijay’s narrative that the 2026 election in the State would be a contest between the TVK and the DMK, Mr. Seeman said he welcomed his stand on defeating the DMK. However, as far as the NTK was concerned, there would be no alliance.
Mr. Seeman further said that he had the strength and willpower to fight the poll alone. “There is no confusion over this stand....”
On the attack on YouTuber ‘Savukku’ Shankar’s residence, Mr. Seeman said a group of people dumped waste at Mr. Shankar’s house and threatened his mother. “The incident had been orchestrated openly. But they [the accused] were booked under ordinary sections of law, and released on bail. What was the need for handing over the case to the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department when the attackers were known clearly..?,” he asked.

When reporters brought to her notice the claim by villagers that the late maharaja of Mysore Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar had gifted the land to them, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said she is not aware of the matter, but sought to assure people that no effort will be made to take back the land that had been gifted by the late maharaja.
