Ramco Institute of Technology hosts collaborative innovation program; Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College and Arulmigu Kalasalingam College hold graduation ceremonies.
Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam organised a two-day capacity building programme, ‘Collaborative Innovation: How Multidisciplinary Research is Shaping the Future, in association with the Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS), on March 28 and 29. R. Krishnamoorthy from SRM University, Tiruchi, delivered the inaugural address. The keynote address was presented by S. Balasubramani from the Department of Library and Information Science, Bharathidasan University, who elaborated on the evolving role of information science in multidisciplinary studies. The presidential address was delivered by L. Ganesan, Principal. S. Rajakarunakaran, Vice-Principal, offered felicitations. L. Radha from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai gave a talk on SALIS’ activities. The programme saw 100 participants from engineering, arts and science colleges and universities.
The 22nd Graduation Day of Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College, Kilakarai, was conducted recently. Principal S. Rajasekar presented the annual report. The ceremony was presided over by Habeeb Mohamed Sathakathulla, Director of Mohamed Sathak Trust. The event was graced by chief guest Vice Chancellor Ravi. He delivered the Graduation Day address and conferred degree certificates on the graduating students. In his address, he encouraged the graduates to pursue their passions, deepen their knowledge through extensive reading—especially by making good use of the library—and to lead purposeful and meaningful lives. A total of 285 undergraduate and postgraduate students received their degree certificates.
Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Pharmacy, Srivilliputtur, conducted its 28th graduation ceremony recently. It was presided over by chairman K. Sridharan. Correspondent S. Arivazagi Sridharan, secretary S. Shasi Anand, Director S. Arjun Kalasalingam offered felicitations. Principal N. Venkatesh gave the welcome address. Chief guest Principal District Judge K. Jayakumar, presented the degrees to 102 students and delivered the convocation address. The guests of honour S. Kasi, Managing Director, Capital Pharma, Coimbatore, and S. Siddharthan, Head, Pharmacology Department, Virudhunagar Government Medical College and Hospital offered felicitations.
The Environment Club of GTN Arts College, Dindigul, organised a special camp in nearby villages to support bird welfare during summer. The initiative was coordinated by P. Ravichandran, the Club Coordinator. As part of the camp, plastic jars and bottles were repurposed and tied to more than 100 trees to provide birds with water and food. These containers were filled with clean water and grains to help birds survive the harsh heat. This eco-friendly initiative was aimed at raising awareness among students and the community about caring for birds and preserving biodiversity. More than 100 student volunteers participated in the camp. S. Arun, Assistant Professor and Environment Club Coordinator, had made the arrangements.
The School of Computing of SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul, conducted a technical symposium, CLOUDUS’2K25. Principal D. Senthil Kumaran presided over. The chief guest was Shriram Parameswaran, founder and CEO, LIFEMAXIMUM, Coimbatore.Dean C. Sujatha presented the annual report.
