IMD issues thunderstorm alert for nine Telangana districts for April 15, 2025; Hyderabad to experience partly cloudy weather with possible rain. Over 43 degrees celsius recorded in three districts on Sunday (April 13, 2025).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert cautioning of thunderstorm in nine districts of Telangana on Tuesday (April 15, 2025).
According to IMD’s daily weather bulletin, isolated places in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, and Vikarabad districts are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.
In Hyderabad, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy over the next 48 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are expected to hover around 38°C and 25°C, respectively, IMD said.
Despite the thunderstorm alert, heatwave-like conditions continue to grip several parts of the State on Sunday (April 13, 2025) Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) shows that Jagtial recorded the highest temperature at 43.4°C, followed closely by Nalgonda at 43.3°C, Mancherial at 43.1°C, and Karimnagar at 43°C.
Ten districts reported temperatures between 42°C and 43°C, while the remaining 19 districts recorded temperatures ranging from 40°C to 42°C. In the Greater Hyderabad region, Medchal Malkajgiri recorded a maximum temperature of 40.2°C, while the city itself saw temperatures touch 40.1°C.
