Ministers flay Kaushik Reddy for ‘rude behaviour’ towards Jagtial MLA during DRC meeting

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the BRS leadership should react to the behaviour of its MLA and clarify if they would accept the use of abusive language in public life.
Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the behaviour of BRS MLA from Huzurabad P.Kaushik Reddy towards the Jagtial MLA M.Sanjay Kumar was “highly condemnable”, and added that the entire episode was created to divert attention from the meeting which was held to discuss welfare measures of the government.
IT and Industries Minister D.Sridhar Babu also condemned the attempt by Mr.Kaushik Reddy to disrupt the speech by Mr.Sanjay Kumar during the meeting. ‘Goondaism’ will not be spared and appropriate action will be taken against those trying to obstruct landmark welfare schemes in the State, he said.

Lashing out at the previous BRS regime for “depriving” eligible poor of new ration cards during its 10-year rule, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress government is all set to implement a revolutionary step to issue new ration cards to all eligible Below Poverty Line (BPL) families from January 26. In another landmark initiative, the Indiramma Rajyam is poised to supply 6 kg fine rice each to white ration card holders from next month, he added.
Presiding over the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting held in Karimnagar on Sunday, the minister said there are around 89 lakh ration cards in Telangana. Only 49,000 ration cards were added at an abysmal 0.5% under the previous BRS dispensation in the last 10 years, he said.
He said the Congress government is relentlessly striving to ensure all round development of Telangana and welfare as envisioned under Indiramma Rajyam.
The Congress government’s decision to provide Rythu Bharosa assistance of ₹12,000 per acre for all cultivable lands and ₹12,000 assistance per annum to the landless agricultural labourers under the Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa Scheme bears testimony to farmer-centric initiatives, he noted.
