NIA Court postpones 'Kodi Kathi' case hearing related to attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy to March 21.
The NIA Court in Visakhapatnam posted the next hearing of ‘Kodi Kathi’ case related to the attack on YSRCP president and then Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the city airport in October 2018 to March 21 as he did not attend the hearing on Friday.
Accused in the case, J. Srinivasa Rao alias Srinu, attended the NIA court hearing.
Members of various dalit organisations criticised Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy for not attending the court hearing.
“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has time to visit former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi in the jail at Vijayawada, but not for the court hearing. Six years have passed, but the YSRCP president is still using the incident for political mileage. Giving court hearing a miss indicates that he has no respect for the courts or the law,” Dalit leader B. Venkat Rao said.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was attacked by Srinivas with a knife at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25, 2018. Srinivas was released on bail in April 2023.
