AAP releases video of alleged attack on Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi, BJP denies involvement, police clarify.
The AAP on Saturday (January 18, 2025) released a video of a group of people showing black flags and a stone being thrown at a car in which party chief Arvind Kejriwal was travelling in New Delhi.
Citing the video, the AAP claimed that it was a planned attack by the BJP.
Sharing another video of the same incident, his opponent from New Delhi seat and BJP leader Parvesh Sahib Singh alleged that people were trying to ask questions to Mr. Kejriwal and two youth were hit by Mr. Kejriwal’s vehicle and they have been admitted to a government hospital.
The AAP chief has Z-plus category security.
“Supporters of BJP’s New Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma attacked Kejriwal during campaigning in the constituency,” an AAP leader said.
Police said that no one pelted stones at the Kejriwal’s car but some people were trying to show black flags to the former chief minister, who were immediately removed from the spot.
In a purported video of the incident, Mr. Kejriwal can be seen sitting in a vehicle with police personnel clearing the route for it. A man waving a black piece of cloth and a stone hurled towards the vehicle were also seen in the video clip.
