IT department conducts an outreach programme in Salem

Outreach programme by Income Tax Department on error-free filing of financial transaction forms and e-verification scheme guidance.
An outreach and awareness programme was organised by the Office of the Intelligence and Criminal Investigation in the Income Tax Department to provide guidance on error-free filing of Forms 61, 61A, and 61B for statements of financial transactions, as well as responding to notices issued by the department under the e-verification scheme 2021 and validation of PAN, at the District Cooperative Societies Community Hall Building recently.
The programme was organised by the Directorate of Income Tax, Intelligence and Criminal Investigation (I and CI), Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and the office of the I and CI of the Salem Income Tax Department. G.K. Ram Narayan, Income Tax Officer, I and CI Salem presided over and had an interactive session with reporting entities for their understanding through hands-on training. Inspector P. Kamalapriya and staff had contributed to the programme.
The programme covered the key aspects of accurately filing Forms 61, 61A, and 6IB, understanding the requirements for e-verification and validation of PAN, effectively responding to department notices, and best practices for maintaining compliance. Officers shared insights and provided hands-on training to ensure that the reporting entities were well-equipped to navigate the filing process with ease. Around 75 employees and officers attended the event.
