Chennai Super Kings' batting coach Michael Hussey optimistic about team's turnaround and areas for improvement.
Ahead of the clash against Delhi Capitals at the MAC Stadium on Saturday, Chennai Super Kings’ batting coach Michael Hussey sounded optimistic about his side’s turnaround and highlighted the areas where it would like to improve during a media interaction on the eve of the match.
“We are certainly not at our best at the moment; there’s no question about that. To be honest, we are working on all facets of the game. We are also focusing on the small areas where we can improve. We’re not far off, though, but we are working on them quietly. We could be a bit sharper in the field, we can improve with our batting, and also with the ball.
“It’s still early days and we are trying to find the right combination. Hopefully, we can play consistent cricket,” said Hussey.
When asked about the top-order not firing in the PowerPlay, the Australian said, “I agree, we haven’t been able to get the flying starts just yet. We’ve come up against some pretty good bowling in the PowerPlays. In the game against RCB, they utilised the pace and bounce of the wicket better than us, making it really difficult. In the previous game, they (RR) bowled really well with the new ball and put us under pressure. We know we can take a bit more risk. Obviously, we would want a fast start, but I don’t think we need to panic too much. If we stick to the process, we’ll improve and get the results we need,” he added.

When reporters brought to her notice the claim by villagers that the late maharaja of Mysore Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar had gifted the land to them, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said she is not aware of the matter, but sought to assure people that no effort will be made to take back the land that had been gifted by the late maharaja.
