Delhi Assembly elections 2025: Delhi L-G urges voters to make informed decisions in upcoming election to shape future of Delhi.
Delhi Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena appealed to the people of Delhi on Sunday (January 26, 2025) to exercise their franchise and vote to thwart “publicity-managed” consent or dissent in the upcoming Assembly election in Delhi.
“We will have to take the right decision overcoming the spell of publicity manufactured consent and dissent,” Mr. Saxena said in his Republic Day address.
The L-G urged the voters to stay cautious against external pressure and determine the difference between right and wrong.
“We will decide the system of health, education, transport, roads, drinking water, sanitation and availability of employment in the next five years. Our vote will decide the steps to be taken by the next government regarding air pollution, Yamuna cleaning and welfare measures for all people, including weaker sections in Delhi,” Mr. Saxena said.
He reminded people that voting day is not a holiday but a “day of duty”. “The voting on February 5 for the Delhi Assembly poll will decide the next five years of the people, their children, society and Delhi,” he said.
On Saturday (January 24, 2025) Chief Minister Atishi, while addressing a Republic Day event, said the AAP government has taken major strides in the past 10 years to transform schools, improve healthcare and provide uninterrupted power.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
