Telangana food safety task force uncovers violations at Narayana Educational Society's central kitchen in Ranga Reddy District.
A task force team of Telangana’s commissioner of food safety conducted an inspection at the central kitchen of Narayana Educational Society in Kuntloor Village of Rangareddy District on Monday (March 10, 2025) uncovering multiple violations of food safety regulations.
One of the major concerns was the absence of microbial contamination testing in the water analysis report. The officials also found that the food business operator (FBO) had availed a license under an inappropriate category and was instructed to apply for necessary modifications. Additionally, nine vehicles used for food transportation lacked the required transport category license, as per a press release.
The kitchen’s flooring was found to be patchy with stagnant water, and some wall tiles were broken. The raw water inlet tank for the RO plant was unclean, while rat faeces were observed in the vegetable cutting area. Spoilt vegetables, including potatoes and tomatoes, were found and subsequently discarded. Officials also noted the use of rusty iron knives for vegetable cutting, and houseflies were present at multiple locations, posing a risk of contamination.
Food items were stored directly on the ground instead of pallets, and food and non-food articles were kept together. Cobwebs in the storage areas suggested inadequate cleaning, while doors were not properly fitted, allowing pests to enter. Authorities have stated that action will be taken under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSS Act), 2006.

Vijaya Sai Reddy points the finger of blame in the forcible transfer of Kakinada Seaports shares at Y.V. Subba Reddy’s son Vikranth Reddy. It was Vikranth Reddy who brokered the entire deal, the former MP tells CID, while insisting that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was neither a party to the transaction nor benefited from it. As far as the liquor scam scam was concerned, the former MP said Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy was the mastermind.
