Celestial kalyanam of Godadevi and Sri Ranganadha Swamy celebrated in temples, Bhogi festival brings festive mood in Vizianagaram.
Hundreds of devotees took part in celestial kalyanam of Godadevi with Sri Ranganadha Swamy in several temples, including Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple and Sri Kalyan Venkateswara Swamy temple of Vizianagaram and Siva Balaji temple of Srikakulam. Siva Balaji temple priest Gopinambala Sitaramacharyulu performed the celestial festival on the culmination day of Dhanurmasam. Godadevi, who is also Andal ammavaru, had an unwavering devotion of Ranganatha Swamy, another form of Lord Krishna.
Meanwhile, festive mood prevailed in nook and corner of Vizianagaram city on Monday with the celebration of Bhogi festival. People gathered in different colonies and lit bonfire as per the traditions. Many colony people of Vasant Vihar Regency of Vizianagaram took part in the celebrations.
