Former Kannur district panchayat president supports woman actor against online abuse, calls for justice and equality for all women.
P.P. Divya, former Kannur district panchayat president who has been accused of abetting the suicide of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu, has expressed her support to the woman actor targeted by offensive social media comments.
In a Facebook post, Ms. Divya condemned the escalating abuse and insults directed at women online, calling the entry of women into all fields a symbol of their freedom. She stated, “A large section is disturbed by it. Some people use social media to shout obscenities. The way they treat their mothers, sisters, and wives is reflected in their behaviour online.”
Ms. Divya also shared the details of a police complaint she had filed against an individual who made obscene comments on social media, including screenshots of the comment.
She also stressed the need for justice for women and urged that all women should receive the same justice as the woman actor.

When reporters brought to her notice the claim by villagers that the late maharaja of Mysore Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar had gifted the land to them, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said she is not aware of the matter, but sought to assure people that no effort will be made to take back the land that had been gifted by the late maharaja.
