MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar emphasizes the role of engineers in India's development by 2047 at VVCE inauguration.
MP for Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that engineers will play a vital role in transforming India into a developed economy by 2047.
He was speaking during the inauguration of the Enventure Autodesk Center of Excellence at the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering campus on Monday.
Mr. Wadiyar praised the new initiative, which brings together academia and industry, enabling students to become industry-ready by the time they graduate.
He encouraged future engineers to not only offer advice when asked but also to proactively contribute to the creation of high-quality institutions and infrastructure.
“India now requires quality infrastructure rather than just large-scale development. It is essential that students create an infrastructure that meets the needs of a growing India, with a focus on organic and sustainable growth,” he said.
In his speech, Mr. Wadiyar also highlighted the importance of aesthetics in engineering. He drew attention to iconic structures like the Ajanta, Ellora, and Mahabalipuram temples, which are renowned for their aesthetic and engineering brilliance. “These masterpieces, created by Indian engineers without the aid of modern technology, have withstood the test of time,” he noted.
Mr. Wadiyar also praised the Maharajas of Mysuru for their focus on aesthetics in engineering projects during their reign.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
