The ED is probing the money laundering charge in the alleged scam, in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife and others have been accused of money laundering through illegal allotment of sites.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued notices to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife B.M. Parvathi and Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning Byrathi Suresh to appear for questioning in connection with the investigation into the alleged scam in allotment of sites by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Ms. Parvathi has been directed to appear in the ED’s regional office at Shanti Nagar in Bengaluru on January 28 at 11 a.m. to give evidence and produce records as part of the investigation under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
The ED is probing the money laundering charge in the alleged scam, in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife and others have been accused of money laundering through illegal allotment of sites. Recently, the ED had attached immovable assets worth about ₹300 crore. The Karnataka Lokayukta, which has probed the alleged irregularities in site allotment, submitted its probe report to the high court.
