
CM Siddaramaiah meets Kannada actor Shivarajkumar, enquires about actor’s health

CM Siddaramaiah visits actor Shivarajkumar post-surgery; actor says eager to return to films after cancer treatment.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid a visit to Kannada actor Shivarajkumar, who returned to Bengaluru from the US where he underwent a surgery, on January 27, 2024.
The CM met the actor at his Nagvara residence and enquired about the latter’s health and well-being. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that he had also called Mr. Shivarajkumar soon after the surgery and was assured that the procedure had gone off smoothly and the actor was recovering well.
Mr. Shivarajkumar had got his cancerous bladder removed in a Miami-based hospital in the U.S. in December 2024. Dr. Murugesh Manoharan said that an artificial bladder was created using the actor’s intestine.
In an emotional video message following the operation, the Kannada superstar had said he is eager to get back to films as soon as he returns to India. The veteran actor, along with his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar, had thanked his family, friends and doctors for their support and prayers.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
