CISF refutes doctor's claim of stolen Apple watch at Delhi airport, CCTV footage shows otherwise.
After a Gurugram-based doctor took to X to complain about his Apple watch being stolen at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) rubbished his claims and said CCTV footage showed that the man strapped the watch on his wrist after completing security check.
Orthopaedic surgeon Tushar Mehta wrote a detailed post on X on January 25 accusing that a person walked away with his Apple watch at the Delhi airport after security screening before he nabbed him. In his post he had also identified the alleged thief and his accomplice as belonging to a minority community. The doctor has since deleted his post.
“The review of the CCTV has contradicted the sequence of events as narrated above. After security check, you were seen wearing your watch and heading for boarding gate,” the security agency responded through the handle owned by the Airport Sector, Central Industrial Security Force.
It urged the passenger to not create unnecessary apprehensions in the minds of passengers through unsubstantiated posts.
It is learnt that the CISF and the Delhi International Airport Limited were contemplating filing a police complaint in the matter against the miscreant.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
