Chennai Mayor presents 2025-26 Corporation budget with ₹8,267.17 crore receipts and ₹8,404.7 crore expenditure, focusing on infrastructure development.
Chennai Mayor R. Priya presented the Budget of Greater Chennai Corporation for the year 2025-26 on March 19, 2025.
According to the Budget documents, the civic body accounts for total receipts of ₹8,267.17 crore and total expenditure of ₹8,404.7 crore. Of the total capital expenditure of ₹3,191 crore, ₹1,032 crore is allocated for storm water drainage, ₹628 crore for bus route roads, ₹413 crore for buildings, ₹352 crore for solid waste management, ₹281 crore for zones, ₹179 crore for special projects, ₹164 crore for bridges and ₹142 crore for others.
