Belagavi school music band to play at Beating Retreat Ceremony in Delhi tomorrow

PM SHRI KV No 2 band from Belagavi selected for Beating Retreat Ceremony in New Delhi with other school bands.
The musical band of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 in the military camp in Belagavi has been selected to perform in the Beating Retreat Ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The team, comprising students from families with some parents serving in the Indian Army, was trained by the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) Belagavi.
The team members will showcase their talent at the Vijay Chowk in New Delhi, alongside bands from government school from Jharkhand and Sikkim.
A total of three government school teams are all set to perform in the Beating Retreat Ceremony.
The team from PM SHRI KGBV Patamda, Jharkhand, will have the honour of performing at the Rostrum opposite the Presidential dais, synchronized with the Army band.
Meanwhile, the teams from Govt. Sr. Sec School West Point, Gangtok, Sikkim, and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Belagavi Cantonment, Karnataka, will showcase their performances at the Vijay Chowk.
These school bands are among 16 teams competing in the Grand Finale of the National School Band Competition 6.0, said a release.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
