Partial flight disruptions at Bengaluru airport between February 5-14 following airspace closure due to Aero India 2025; BIAL issues passenger advisory.
Travelling to or from Bengaluru in February? Expect disruptions in your flight schedules. With the Aero India 2025 set to commence from February 10, 2025, the Bangalore International Airport Limited has issued a statement regarding flight disruptions due to closure of airspace.
Between February 5 and February 14, commercial flight operations will be partially impacted at the Kempegowda Intrenational Airport “on account of the upcoming Aero India Show 2025 at the Air Force Station Yelahanka”, the BIAL said.
During the 10-day period, the KIA airspace will be shut for a total of 47 hours. Passengers travelling through the Bengaluru airport have been asked to stay updated on the airspace closure timings and revised flight schedules as notified by the respective airline.
The 15th edition of Aero India will be held between February 10 and 14, with the first three days being business days, and the last two day being public days. More than 700 exhibitors have registered for the biennial air show and aviation exhibition.
Visitor registration went live on January 5 with tickets available across three categories — general, business and Air Display Viewing Area (ADVA) — for Indian nationals and foreign nationals.
In view of the event, the BBMP has prohibited the sale of meat from January 23 to February 17. The ban has been imposed on all meat-related businesses, including preparing and selling non-vegetarian food, within a 13-km radius of the airbase during this period. Violations will invite legal action under the BBMP Act 2020, AirCraft Rules 1937 (Rule 91), and other relevant laws.
During the last edition in 2023, over 100 countries participated with about 809 exhibitors and footfall of over seven lakh visitors. Over 250 MoUs and partnerships were finalised during the air show worth more than ₹75,000 crore.
