Saif Ali Khan discharged from hospital after knife attack, underwent surgery for injuries inflicted by Bangladeshi national.
After being hospitalised for five days, actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday (January 21, 2025) following the knife attack at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on January 16.
The accused, Shahzad, stabbed him and caused him six injuries, harming his thoracic spine. Doctors performed surgery to remove 2.5 mm knife piece .
Mr. Khan was hospitalised after he was attacked in alleged robbery attempt when accused broke into his house and in confrontation he got injured. Mumbai police arrested accused identified Shariful Islam Shahzad. On interrogation, police found he was Bangladeshi national living in India and worked with housekeeping company.
According to police, Shahzad lived in India as Vijay Das. Shahzad was sent to five days of police custody for further interrogation on Sunday. Police has also gathered 19 fingertips from the Bandra residence of Mr. Bandra and recreated the crime scene.
